Maeil Business Newspaper, a Korean business daily, interviewed CEO Kim Dae-hee on September 22, 2025, for a feature on customized 3D vision solutions.
The company name joins modi, a word for gathering in the dialect of Korea’s southeast, with divergence: gather technology and send it out. Kim describes a B2B company that develops and supplies a 3D camera hardware platform and AI-based 3D vision solutions to each customer’s specification, on the principle that software can only be as good as the hardware under it.
The main product is a ToF (time-of-flight) 3D camera hardware platform paired with a custom vision solution, applied in logistics, robotics, and smart factories. ToF measures distance from the return time of emitted light, which favors real-time processing and holds up under complex lighting; stereo cameras are offered where they suit the application better. The point, Kim says, is hardware built to the application: resolution, features, and range fixed to the environment, not a camera bought and plugged in over USB.
Kim founded the company in 2023 after most Korean camera module makers moved production to China, leaving few domestic firms able to build a proper industrial camera, and after watching general-purpose 3D vision products fall short of the variety of real sites. Predefined lineups of resolution, field of view, processor, and interface let the company propose and test a configuration quickly, which is why he calls it as much a consulting business as a solutions vendor.
A logistics proof of concept with Hanwha Vision has run since 2024, and the company is a registered Samsung Electronics vendor developing a camera for a medical device. In 2025 it was selected for IBK Changgong, named an outstanding company at the KIBO Venture Camp, and received a World IT Show 2025 Innovation Award, and its place at CES 2026 was confirmed.
Products run on edge computing, processing data on site without a server, because a cloud round trip is too slow for real-time industrial work. Hardware, software, communications module, and UI ship as one platform. The roadmap Kim describes: a Vision-as-a-Service subscription in 2026 and a real-time volumetric system in 2028.
